BlueVoice.org, a non-profit devoted to protecting whales and dolphins, will present to the International Whaling Commission annual meeting in Madiera, Portugal, a petition, signed by 28,000 people, demanding that the Japanese halt the slaughter of whales and dolphins. They will present evidence that these meats are dangerously polluted and unfit for consumption.
About 20,000 dolphins a year are killed for meat in Japan, says bluevoice.org
